Rethinking Haute Couture
We do not serve the garment. We serve the woman who wears it.
Many people first associate haute couture with elaborate techniques, precious fabrics, handwork and design presence.
They matter, but they are not the whole of haute couture.
If a garment is technically complex and materially expensive, yet does not respond to the client’s body, role, occasion and emotional need, it may be a refined garment, but not necessarily a couture piece that truly belongs to her.
